The CICC Experience Your Journey Towards Health Begins Here
Recommended Assessment and Follow-Up Care at the CICC
The following process is what makes your experience at CICC unique. In order to ensure that important details of your health concerns are not missed, we recommend that each new patient at the CICC meet first with our Naturopathic Doctors. The integrative experience that we offer at CICC requires that your case is overseen by practitioners that can direct your care to the appropriate healthcare professionals that will suit your needs best. In this manner, we strive towards providing safe and effective integrative strategies for your care.
On your first visit to the CICC you will meet the Directors and Naturopathic Doctors of your CICC team. You will have a 90-minute assessment of your individual health needs with both Naturopathic Doctors which will include a physical exam that will not involve bloodwork or internal examination. Most of this visit will be spent discussing your personal health history and current health concerns and goals.
After this visit your Naturopathic Doctors will discuss your needs with the healthcare members of the CICC team that best match your needs to coordinate a plan of care for you to achieve your short-term and/or long-term health goals.
Upon your first follow-up visit (60 minutes), you will learn the plan of care that has been created to suit your individual needs. In this visit you will also learn the tools (nutrition/lifestyle/supplements/herbal suggestions) that can be safely incorporated into your personal day-to-day health care.
Detailed information about the CICC practitioners suggested for your care will be provided to you and you can decide whether you would like to book appointments with the suggested practitioners for your needs.
***Note: no patients at the CICC are required to have the 90-minute initial assessment with the Clinic Directors/Naturopathic Doctors to begin care with individual practitioners.***
Suggested Time Frame for Healing
Each patient is individual in their needs and their response-times for healing. In our experience with Complementary Medicine, we have found that for patients that are currently battling cancer, the CICC plan-of care should be followed for 6-12 months for ideal benefits. This may mean that lifestyle and nutritional changes/recommendations continue beyond this time (in fact this is encouraged!), but we recommend that patients are as strict as possible with the suggestions offered through the CICC team for at least 6-12 months for optimum results of care.
If you are currently cancer-free, we recommend that you follow the suggestions from CICC for at least 3-6 months per year for ideal benefits.
Prevention
If you are working to help yourself prevent a cancer diagnosis you may need less frequent visits, but may choose to work with any of our CICC healthcare team members as desired. Any or all of our individual complementary therapies can be incorporated into your lifestyle regularly at the frequency you desire to achieve benefits for your individual health care needs. And as we know, prevention IS the best medicine!
